Blackburn Rovers 0-1 Arsenal

The much maligned (by this website anyway!) Robin Van Persie went from villan to hero as Arsenal overcame Blackburn Rovers over the weekend.

Van Persie scored a brilliant goal with more than a touch of the Bergkamps about it just before half time.

Arsenal played quite well despite being short of big name players and (whisper it) kept a fifth consecutive clean sheet. In a season of defensive fragility, this is a welcome development and many observers feel that when Sol Campbell regains fitness it could be Kolo Toure who makes way rather than Phillippe Senderos.

Another school of thought is that the Ivorian will switch to right back and Lauren could be benched.

Either way, with the Premiership now gone M Wenger should keep faith with the young Swiss defender so he can get as many top flight minutes under his belt as possible.

Wenger himself, commenting on the Rovers match, said that nothing too much could be read into the result. But there was a positive for his side as they now know that they have the beating of their opposition.

With it being international week there isn't too much Arsenal gossip to update this week so new posts on the site may be short and sweet. In the meantime keep chatting on the forums, and don't forget that I am on holiday next week!!! (So don't expect any updates then!)

Laters,
